The Challenge

Construction and fit-out projects naturally leave behind dust, debris, adhesive residues, and builder’s marks. In a food service environment, this poses a critical risk to hygiene if not properly addressed. For Gail’s Buxton, the focus was on delivering a detailed, thorough clean that would leave no surface untouched.

Key considerations for this project included:

• Safe removal of fine construction dust from kitchen appliances and food prep areas.
• Specialist cleaning of new seating and decorative finishes without damaging surfaces.
• Intensive cleaning of WC areas to ensure they were ready for public use.
• Working within a short turnaround window to meet handover deadlines.

Our Approach

We carried out a two-phase clean to meet both the construction handover standards and the sparkle finish required for the bakery’s opening:

Phase 1: Post-Build Clean

Our operatives systematically removed all construction debris, dust, and residues. This included:

• Cleaning internal windows, sills, and frames.
• Wiping down walls, ceilings, and high-level surfaces.
• Cleaning floors, removing protective coverings, and dealing with grout haze on tiled areas.
• Degreasing and sanitising kitchen units, prep benches, and sinks.

Phase 2: Sparkle Clean

To ensure Gail’s Buxton looked showroom-ready, we delivered a meticulous sparkle clean, focusing on:

• Polishing all stainless steel surfaces to a high shine.
• Deep-cleaning and buffing floors to restore their original finish.
• Fingerprint removal from glass, tiles, and stainless fittings.
• Ensuring the washroom facilities were sparkling, fresh-smelling, and fully sanitised.

Throughout the process, we used eco-friendly products suitable for food preparation environments. All of which maintain compliance with hygiene standards.

The Outcome
